JOB CREATORS JOIN HOUSE REPUBLICANS AT STATE OF THE STATE ADDRESS

Thursday, February 7, 2013

Gail Bollis, owner of the General Store in Minnetonka, joins Representative Hertaus for roundtable, State of the State

SAINT PAUL, MN – House Republicans were joined on Wednesday for Governor Dayton’s State of the State address by local job creators from across Minnesota. GOP lawmakers used their guest tickets to the Governor’s annual address, typically reserved for friends and family members, to invite small business owners and job creators from around the state to participate in a roundtable discussion, and to join them on the House floor during the speech.

Representative Jerry Hertaus, R-Greenfield, was joined by Gail Bollis. Bollis and her husband Chris, are owners of the General Store in Minnetonka on Highway 7. The store employs approximately 70 employees. Bollis is a resident of Orono, located in District 33A.

“The roundtable discussion this evening echoed many of the concerns we’ve been hearing over the past several weeks about the damaging impact of Governor Dayton’s proposals on jobs and job growth in our state,” Hertaus said. “We need to be making Minnesota more competitive to help foster job growth to get Minnesotans back to work. I am concerned these proposals will be a step backwards on the improvements our economy has made over the past two years.”
