JOB CREATORS JOIN HOUSE REPUBLICANS AT STATE OF THE STATE ADDRESS

Chris Soderholm of Soderholm & Associates joins Representative Newberger as State of the State guest.

SAINT PAUL, MN – On Wednesday, House Republicans invited dozens of local job creators from across the state of Minnesota for a roundtable discussion prior to Governor Dayton’s State of the State address. House Republicans used their guest tickets, traditionally reserved for friends and family members, to invite small business owners to the roundtable and to join them on the House floor for the Governor’s annual address.

Representative Jim Newberger, R-Becker, was joined for the State of the State by Chris Soderholm, President of Soderholm and Associates. Newberger urged Dayton to re-examine his proposal, citing concerns from Soderholm and others about the potential harm to small businesses.

“We’ve heard from business owners across the state since the Governor released his proposal, and we heard again from job creators tonight at the roundtable: the Governor’s proposal will put Minnesota at a competitive disadvantage and threaten thousands of good-paying jobs for working Minnesotans,” Newberger said. “Democrats and Republicans alike have raised concerns about the potential impact of these tax increases, and the Governor should heed the concerns of Minnesotans and reconsider whether this is the best path forward for our state.

“Soderholm and Associates provides hundreds of jobs in Central Minnesota and around the country. We need to make sure Minnesota remains an attractive place to do business, lest we risk losing good companies and jobs to other states in the region.”

Soderholm and Associates was founded in 1971 and is a leading manufacturers’ representative agency for plumbing and heating industries across the Midwest.
