ST. PAUL, MN—Representative Anna Wills, R-Apple Valley, welcomed small business owner Margaret Minegar—President and Owner of Bunkbedder, LLC to participate in a roundtable with job creators from across the state of Minnesota to discuss concerns over Governor Dayton’s proposed budget. Minegar then joined Wills on the House floor for the Governor’s State of the State address.
“I am grateful to Margaret for coming to the roundtable to share her experience and story,” Wills said. “The roundtable provided us valuable feedback and firsthand accounts of the possible impacts of the Governor’s proposal, and I hope we will continue to keep these concerns in mind as budget process moves forward.”
“As a small business owner, I have a number of concerns about the Governor’s budget,” Minegar said. “I started this business from scratch last year, and these proposed tax increases will undoubtedly impact my bottom line. After reviewing the list of new goods and services that would now be taxed under the Governor’s plan, I estimate that 34 of the 41 taxes listed will negatively affect my business, and businesses like mine around the state.”
