Congrats to FFHS band; helpful state websites

Friday, January 18, 2013

To the editor,

Congratulations to the Fergus Falls High School band for being selected to play at President Obama's inauguration event. You deserve to be proud of this achievement and I shared your story from the House floor. Congratulations again!

As for news from the Capitol, the 2013 legislative session is hitting stride and I want to share some information to help local citizens keep up to speed as things develop at the Capitol.

One way to follow along is by signing up to receive my periodic email updates. These emails are free of charge and provide a behind-the-scenes look at the Legislature. The way I look at it, is I'm a reporter with inside access and I do my best to pass along messages regarding issues I believe people will find important. I try to be more factual and informative than soap-boxy.

In addition to receiving my periodic email updates, you also can tune in local radio stations to hear my views on the latest issues. I am on The Lakes 99.5 FM in Perham at 8:15 a.m. each Thursday. Sen. Bill Ingebrigtsen and I alternate making weekly appearances on KBRF 1250 AM out of Fergus Falls. We are on at 5:45 p.m. Fridays throughout the session.

You can sign up by visiting my official legislative website at www.house.mn/31B. Just click on the sign-up link near my photo to start receiving my free emails.
