Rep. Lohmer Begins Second Term

Dear neighbor,

This week I was humbled and honored to be sworn in for a second term to be able to serve the people of central Washington County. I plan to work closely with Representative Dettmer, Senator Housley, and our local officials on the challenges facing us as a community and as a state.

I ran on the platform of limited government, fiscal responsibility, economic freedom, and keeping our community safe. Even though I am now a member of the minority party in the Minnesota House, I intend to continue to fight for those principles.

One of my specific priorities this term includes continuing my work to find education and housing solutions for families of children with severe autism. With my assignment to the Public Safety Finance & Policy Committee, I also plan to work to find funding for the Lower St. Croix Valley Fire Department’s requirement to respond to calls on Interstate 94, a federal highway. Currently, the small municipalities in that area are required to pay that cost.

Due to the 2012 redistricting process, my district, House District 39A, now includes Grant, Pine Springs, and St. Mary’s Point. I no longer represent Woodbury. If you do not live in my district anymore and wish to discontinue receiving my e-mails, there are instructions at the bottom of this message to unsubscribe. If you do not know who your new state legislators are, you can find out by clicking the link below and typing in your home address (http://www.gis.leg.mn/OpenLayers/districts/).

I enjoy serving our community and I look forward to being able to represent you for the next two years. I would like to invite you to join me and other neighbors for an old-fashioned ice cream social on Saturday, January 19, at Mulberry Point in Stillwater from noon to four. The event is sponsored by the Washington County Historical Society and the Stillwater Convention & Visitors Bureau. I hope to see you there! Dress warm!
