NEWBERGER BEGINS FIRST TERM

Tuesday, January 8, 2013

SAINT PAUL, MN – Representative Jim Newberger (R-Becker) was officially sworn in Tuesday as a part of a ceremony at the State Capitol in Saint Paul. The ceremony marked the official start of the 88th legislature, and the official start to freshman Rep. Jim Newberger’s first term in Saint Paul. Newberger represents District 15B, which includes Benton, Sherburne, Wright, and Morrison Counties.

“I’m humbled by the trust voters placed in me by sending me to the legislature,” Newberger said. “I look forward to working with my colleagues to solve the many issues facing our state, and bringing the concerns and ideas of my district to Saint Paul.” Newberger said he would strive to ensure that the concerns of greater Minnesota were heard at the Capitol, and that education and other tax dollars were distributed fairly and equitably to the region. Newberger says he will also strive to cut government waste, and will work to find cost savings and other reforms to bring down spending.

Newberger will serve on the Civil Law Committee, the Public Safety Finance and Policy Committee, and the Transportation Policy Committee.

Newberger’s office will be in the State Office Building, across the street from the State Capitol in Room 311. Newberger can be reached by phone at 651-296-2451, or by email at Rep.Jim.Newberger@house.mn.  Mail can be sent to Rep. Jim Newberger, 311 State Office Building, 100 Rev.
