HERTAUS SWORN IN, BEGINS FIRST TERM

SAINT PAUL, MN – Freshman Representative Jerry Hertaus (R-Greenfield) was sworn in Tuesday, officially taking the oath of office at a swearing-in ceremony at the State Capitol in Saint Paul, marking the beginning of the 2013 legislative session. Hertaus is the former mayor of Greenfield, and represents District 33A which includes the cities of Greenfield, Independence, Maple Plain, Medina, Corcoran, Wayzata, Long Lake, Minnetrista, Orono, Loretto, and St. Bonifacius.  

“I’m excited and ready to get to work,” Hertaus said. “I’m honored to have been elected to represent my friends and neighbors in the legislature, and am ready to start tackling the problems facing our state.” Hertaus will serve on three committees during the upcoming session; the Education Finance Committee, the Housing Finance and Policy Committee, and the Property and Local Tax Division Committee.
