News from Representative Kresha 01-11-2013

Friday, January 11, 2013

Greetings from Saint Paul,

It has been a whirlwind week here at the State Capitol. After weeks of orientation meetings, moving in to our new offices, and many trips back and forth from Little Falls, 132 members of the legislature were sworn in Thursday at the official swearing-in ceremony on the House floor at the Capitol.

I'm humbled to have earned your trust to represent District 9B at the legislature. It is a duty I take very seriously, and I am excited to get to work.

I had the opportunity on Wednesday to hear from a variety of speakers at the One Minnesota conference who delivered the same message I heard numerous times on the campaign trail -- that legislators need to come together and work toward bipartisan solutions. That is what I hope to do this coming session, and I look forward to finding common ground with my colleagues across the aisle to see where we can find agreement, and work to find common sense solutions to the problems facing our state.

Later that day, many legislators attended a dinner hosted by the Minnesota Chamber of Commerce, where we heard about the Minnesota business community's priorities and goals for making Minnesota's economic climate more attractive for good paying jobs.

As always, if you have any questions, concerns, or suggestions about legislation or issues that arise at the Capitol, I encourage you to contact my office at any time.

Sincerely,

Ron Kresha
