Health care cuts will increase costs for middle class
Saint Paul, Minnesota – State Rep. Erin Murphy (DFL – St. Paul) released the following statement on House Republican budget targets that include $1.6 billion in cuts to health care.
“It’s surprising it took over two months for Republicans to introduce their plan because we have seen it before.
Once again, they are using shifts and hollow rhetoric to shield the fact they are sticking middle class Minnesotans with higher property taxes, tuition, and health care costs.
In health care, the proposed cuts are very real, with significant impact to all Minnesotans.
They represent life altering cuts for seniors, people with disabilities, and children. The cost of the further fracture in our health care system will be passed onto all consumers through higher co-pays, premiums, and prescription drug costs.
It’s déjà vu."
