House Republican Leader Kurt Daudt Chooses Rep. Jenifer Loon as Deputy Leader
[ST. PAUL] – House Republican Leader Kurt Daudt announced today he has chosen Rep. Jenifer Loon (R-Eden Prairie) as the Deputy Republican Leader. Loon was first elected in 2008 and was just re-elected to her third term representing the Hennepin County suburb of Eden Prairie.
“Rep. Loon is an experienced member with strong relationships inside and outside our caucus,” said Daudt. “Jenifer’s work on job creation and tax reform will add value to the leadership of the House Republican Caucus and the Minnesota House of Representatives. She will be a very positive face for the Republican Party.”
During the last biennium, Loon served as a member of the House Republican Caucus Executive Board and chaired the Steering Committee. She also served as the Vice-Chair of the House Taxes Committee. Before being elected to the House, Loon worked for thirteen years in Washington, DC including serving as the Chief of Staff to the House Small Business Committee. Loon and her husband Doug have two daughters.
“I’m very excited to join Rep. Daudt’s leadership team,” said Loon. “I look forward to working with him over the next two years as we put forward a positive agenda and show Minnesotans that government reform and efficiency are better alternatives than the tax increases likely coming from Governor Dayton and the DFL legislature that will stifle small business job growth and hurt Minnesota families.”
The remainder of the House Republican leadership team will be elected by the members on December 12, 2012.
