A Ramsey County judge has issued a temporary restraining order on the vote scheduled to take place regarding unionizing daycare providers. Apparently the judge shares some of the concerns many others have expressed.
The judge questioned this unilateral call for a vote by Gov. Mark Dayton and said this issue needs to go through the Legislature. The judge also disagreed with the fact this election would only allow fewer than 4,300 of Minnesota's 11,000 in-home daycare providers to vote.
This temporary restraining order means no ballots will be issued this Tuesday as originally scheduled. A hearing is scheduled to re-evaluate the issue Jan. 16. I will keep you posted as things develop, but this is fantastic news for small businesses in Minnesota.
