Legislative Update from Rep. Anna Wills

Friday, November 9, 2018

Friends,

It has been the honor and privilege of a lifetime to serve as your State Representative in the Minnesota House for the past six years. Apple Valley, Rosemount, and Coates represent the best that Minnesota has to offer. Our community is ready to lead Minnesota into the future with good well-paying jobs, strong schools, and a tight-knit sense of community where everyone can succeed if they work hard and play by the rules.

I am proud of my many accomplishments for our district and our state, and I am deeply grateful for the opportunity you've given me to get to know and help so many wonderful people in our community over the years.

Thank you so much to my amazing husband, Rob, for your love and support to allow me to serve our district—I couldn't have done this without you. Our family has grown during the years I've been in office and I personally have grown and learned so much. Becoming a mother while serving in office truly deepened my understanding of the issues facing our state and made my job so much more meaningful.

I will never forget the incredible experience it has been to serve as your State Representative. Thank you for giving me that opportunity for the past six years. While I was disappointed with the results on Tuesday night, I am at peace and I look forward to what God has planned for me and my family next.

Starting in January, our community will be represented by John Huot. I wish John nothing but the best as he moves into this new leadership role. In the meantime, if you or your family have any questions or need assistance regarding a matter related to state government, please do not hesitate to reach out to me.

Veterans Day

On Monday, our nation celebrates Veterans Day—a day to honor the sacrifice that brave men and women make and have made in service to our country. America remains a shining beacon of freedom for people around the world thanks to their willingness to serve.

Thank you to those of you who serve and have served our great nation.

Help us honor local veterans tonight, Friday November 9th, at our second annual Veterans Day concert and program. The event will be held at Rosemount’s Steeple Center beginning at 7:00 pm.

The event, which is free, includes music by one of the Red Bull bands, a presentation given by Glenn Oliphant, a crew member on the USS Liberty, as well as cake and refreshments.
