Statement from Rep. Dan Fabian on Minnesota Commerce Department Filing for Reconsideration of Line 3

Wednesday, September 26, 2018

Roseau, MINN—This week, the Minnesota Department of Commerce filed for reconsideration of the unanimous Public Utilities Commission (PUC) decision that allowed the Enbridge Line 3 Replacement Pipeline to move forward. The PUC approved the certificate of need for Line 3 in June of this year, and the pipeline was originally ordered to be replaced during the Obama Administration.

“Minnesotans are tired of Democrats playing political games at the expense of critically needed infrastructure improvements and good-paying jobs in Northern Minnesota. The PUC made the right decision when they unanimously granted a certificate of need for Line 3, and now we once again see the Dayton Administration and the Department of Commerce trying to throw up bureaucratic roadblocks and runarounds,” said Rep. Dan Fabian, R-Roseau. “This is about siding with environmental extremists over the people of Minnesota. The PUC saw a need for Line 3, and now it’s time to get this done.”
