ST. CLOUD – Minnesota House Ways and Means Committee Chairman Rep. Jim Knoblach, R-St. Cloud, issued the following statement Wednesday in response to a new Pew Charitable Trusts
report indicating Minnesota is among the nation’s leaders in strengthening its fiscal reserves. The report places the state 10th nationally, with enough funding to operate for 32 days solely on rainy day reserves.
“The responsible fiscal decisions we made in recent years continue producing results,” Knoblach said. “Our approach allowed us to fill our state’s previously depleted rainy day fund while also passing the largest tax cut in 20 years. I am proud of the results we have achieved as evidenced by this Pew report and remain optimistic our state’s economy will continue to surge.”
