RELEASE: Rep. Layman congratulates local Farm Families of the Year

COHASSET, MN—Rep. Sandy Layman, R-Cohasset, issued the following statement congratulating area 2018 Farm Families of the Year.

The 2018 award winners are:

Cass County: Marion and Christina Linn and Family, Blind Lake Cattle Company
Itasca County: Lavalier's Berry Patch and Orchard

"Congratulations to both the Linn family of Blind Lake Cattle Company and the Lavalier family of Lavalier’s Berry Patch and Orchard for representing our area and being named a 2018 Farm Family of the Year,” said Layman. “We’re so fortunate to have these family farms in our area that show our rich history in farming and agriculture. Again, congrats to both families!”

The Farm Family Recognition Program is coordinated by the University of Minnesota Extension; the College of Food, Agriculture, and Natural Resources Sciences; and the College of Veterinary Medicine and recognizes families from Minnesota's 87 counties who have made significant contributions to Minnesota agriculture and their communities. The 2018 Farm Family Recognition Program is set for today, August 9 at Farmfest.
