News From Representative Kresha 6-6-18

Wednesday, June 6, 2018

Dear Neighbors,

I have great news to share with you from the Capitol today. Last week, Governor Dayton signed into law the legislature’s bonding bill, which includes infrastructure projects statewide to benefit communities and help create jobs. The bonding bill’s enactment is also a victory for our area, especially Long Prairie. Included in the package is a measure I authored to provide $700,000 in funding for CentraCare-Long Prairie to be used toward a Regional Community Well-Being Center.

According to CentraCare Health, the new health center will serve more than 35,000 residents within a 20 mile radius of Long Prairie, and will provide “programs, services and amenities designed to promote healthy lifestyles, enhance quality of life and support well-being”. Construction of the center is set to begin this summer, with a scheduled opening of March 2019. The 12,000-square-foot facility will be located adjacent to the new hospital and clinic in Long Prairie.

Again, this project is a big win for Long Prairie and the surrounding communities. A Regional Community Well-Being Center in Long Prairie is a great investment and will significantly benefit area patients. I was proud to support and advocate for this project in the legislature, and am thankful for the efforts of local advocates that helped make it possible. With construction getting underway this summer, I look forward to the positive impact these dollars will have on healthcare quality and accessibility in our area in the years to come.

As always, please feel free to contact me if you have any questions or concerns on any issue. I’m always here to help you, and hope you’ll reach out if you need anything.

Sincerely,

Ron
