Rep. Anderson hails Central Livestock for earning national livestock award

Wednesday, February 7, 2018

ST. PAUL – Rep. Paul Anderson, R-Starbuck, congratulates Central Livestock, which has a market in Albany, for recently receiving national recognition during a trade show in Phoenix.

Central Livestock was named the National Beef Quality Assurance award winner in the Marketer category during the National Cattle Industry Convention and Trade Show last week. The National BQA Award recognizes outstanding beef and dairy producers, marketers and educators that best demonstrate animal care and handling principles as part of the day-to-day activities on their respective operations.

“Hats off to Central Livestock for earning this award,” Anderson said. “It is nice to see a good company with local ties receive recognition. Their Albany market is very important to people in our area, especially considering the significant presence cattle have in Stearns County and in our region of the state in general.”

In addition to its Albany market, Central Livestock has two other Minnesota operations in Zumbrota and Rock Creek, along with another market in West Fargo, N.D. Central Livestock also continues to conduct business at its corporate headquarters in South St. Paul.

BLAC-X Farms of Luverne won the event’s Feedyard category, giving Minnesota two of the four National BQA awards this year.
