With only a couple of weeks until the 2018 Legislative Session starts, I have been attending legislative preview events and preparing for the Session. Below are details for an event I attended this morning as well as upcoming events you may want to attend:
AMSD Legislative Breakfast
This morning I attended the Association of Metropolitan School Districts Legislative Breakfast. We had an excellent, bipartisan discussion on education issues facing suburban and city schools now and in the future. I am proud to represent District 196 in the Minnesota House!

Job Fair at Inver Hills
Dakota County's unemployment rate is currently hovering below 3% for the months of November and December 2017, which is better than both the broader Minnesota and National numbers. This means employers are looking for help and there is the following Job Fair:
- The DCTC & Inver Hills Career Fair will take place on Tuesday, February 6th, from 3:00pm - 6:00pm at Inver Hill's Fine Arts Building. No registration is required and bring your resume! More information is available here.
Caucuses on Tuesday
Precinct Caucuses, the official start of the 2018 election cycle, are held on Tuesday, February 6th, at 7:00pm in communities across the entire state of Minnesota. You can find your caucus location here at the Secretary of State’s website: http://caucusfinder.sos.state.mn.us/ You get to select which party's caucus you prefer to participate in.
Senate District 57 Legislative Listening Session
On Saturday, February 17th, I will be participating in a Legislative Listening Session with Senator Greg Clausen and Rep. Erin Maye Quade. It will be at Falcon Ridge Middle School from 10:30am to 12:30pm. This is a great opportunity to share YOUR priorities and feedback with all of us. I hope you can make it!
Interim Appointments
If you would like to meet with me to ask any questions or discuss a particular issue, my meetings will be held in-district during these last two weeks before the 2018 Session starts on February 20th.
