Town Hall on Monday!

Friday, January 19, 2018

Friends,

What a game! As if it wasn't exciting enough to be hosting the Super Bowl, that incredible game on Sunday put our Vikings one win away from being the first team to ever play a home game in the Super Bowl. Skol Vikings!

Maple Grove City Council Meeting

On Tuesday, I spoke at the Maple Grove City Council Meeting to give a recap of new laws passed during the 2017 session, give an update on the state of MNLARS and the implementation of REAL ID, and give a preview of the 2018 session. It was a great meeting and I always love to hear from local officials.

On Monday, I will be attending the Osseo City Council Meeting to discuss the 2018 legislative agenda and hear from our community on Monday - stop by and join the discussion! There is a working group at 6:00 pm and the meeting begins at 7:00 pm at the City Hall Council Chambers, 415 Central Avenue. Hope to see you there!

Osseo v. Maple Grove in Basketball

Tonight, the Osseo Orioles will host the Maple Grove Crimson in boys basketball. Osseo is currently leading the Northwest Suburban Conference and Maple Grove is red hot. It should be a great game. Also, all three teams -- Maple Grove, Osseo, and Wayzata, all have conference hockey games this weekend. Get out to cheer on our kids!

New 2018 Laws in effect January 1

While much of the great work we did during the 2017 Session went into effect later in 2017, a few laws went into effect on January 1st, 2018. Among the new laws that went into effect were uniform election dates, more specialty license plates, and two health-related reforms -- one will make it easier for patients to refill their prescription eye drops and another will allow home health care workers to count training for those who are hard of hearing towards their annual training requirements.
