EDINA, Minn— Representative Dario Anselmo, R-Edina, is congratulating the city of Edina for receiving a Contamination Cleanup and Investigation Grant from the Department of Employment and Economic Development (DEED) to cleanup petroleum and other pollutants at Market Street and France. The city was given $581,063 in cleanup funding for the nearly 3 acre site, which will be redeveloped for a new apartment complex, commercial space and parking. The project is expected to create 67 new jobs and increase the city’s tax base by more than $1 million.
“Edina is a great place to live, work, shop and raise a family, and I am glad that our community was given grant funding by DEED to safely cleanup space downtown and start the process of redevelopment,” said Rep. Anselmo. “Thank you to the efforts of everyone in our city who helped secure these grants and are leading the way to improve our community, create jobs, grow our local tax base and keep Edina a world-class city. Well done!”
