Legislative Update (December 8, 2017)

Friday, December 8, 2017

Dear Neighbors,

I hope you’re staying warm now that it’s feeling like winter outside! It’s inevitable every year, but it always takes me by surprise when temps drop. The good news is it’s starting to look and feel like Christmas out, so we’ll take it.

Veterans Video

You might remember that last week I joined other legislators to volunteer in Anoka to turn the old Minnesota State Hospital into housing for homeless veterans. It was so rewarding to see the progress made in under two months, and I’m excited for our nation’s heroes to have a warm place to stay this winter. We made a short video about the initiative so you can gain a better idea of how amazing this project is for our area. If you’re interested, please click here.

Data Practices Meeting

Session will be here before we know, so we’re starting to hold more and more meetings to get ready. This week, we had another meeting with the Data Practices Commission. At the hearing we discussed cybersecurity and the threat to state databases that contain your information.

Don't forget...

Skating with Santa, Dec. 17 at the Coon Rapids Ice Center. http://ci.coon-rapids.mn.us/calendar.aspx?EID=1707

Please Contact Me

Even though we’re out of session, I’d still like to hear from you with any ways I can be of service. Feel free to call or email my office and I’ll get right back to you.

Enjoy the weekend,

Peggy
