Rep. Dan Fabian Praises Federal Action to Grant Line 67 a Presidential Permit to Cross U.S. Border

Tuesday, October 17, 2017

ROSEAU, MINN—It was announced recently that Enbridge Line 67, which runs crude oil from Alberta, Canada to Superior, Wisconsin, received a critical Presidential Permit, enabling the cross-border pipeline to nearly double its capacity. The State Department stated that issuing the permit serves in our national interest.

Representative Dan Fabian, R-Roseau, released the following statement regarding the issuing of the permit from the Trump Administration:

It’s great to see common sense at the federal level, and I am pleased they issued a Presidential Permit for Enbridge Line 67 which runs from Canada, through Northwest Minnesota and on to Wisconsin. This is a needed pipeline that safely transports crude oil, and with this permit they will be able to double its capacity.

Progress on Line 67 also highlights the need to end the unnecessary regulatory runaround that the Enbridge Line 3 Replacement Project is facing. It’s time for the Public Utilities Commission and Dayton Administration to permit Line 3 to go forward in the best interest of our local communities, state and nation.
