Dear Friends,
Last Tuesday, August 29th, I invited the House Capital Investment Committee for a tour of the Minnesota Zoo to discuss proposed capital improvement projects needing to be completed at the Zoo, including exhibit upgrades, new elevated walkways, hiking trails, campsites, and an adventure course. It’s important that we continue to make these investments in the Zoo to preserve this great asset of our community.

Dakota County Regional Chamber 60th Anniversary
Last Thursday, August 31st, my daughter Shalom and I attended the 60th anniversary celebration for the Dakota County Regional (DCR) Chamber of Commerce! The DCR Chamber has been instrumental in helping local businesses network and be successful in our community, as well as advocating for business-friendly policies at the legislature. It was great to connect with folks and hear how their businesses are doing.
Country Faire
The Rosemount Country Faire will be taking place next Saturday, September 16th from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM at the Steeple Center (14375 S. Robert Tr.) A free ice cream social will be held from 1:00 PM to 3:30 PM.
Constitution Day
The Dakota County Judicial Center in Hastings (1560 Hwy 55) will be open to the public on Friday, September 15th from 12:30 PM to 4:00 PM for Constitution Day! This event will feature the work of our state’s courts, and educate our community about the work of judges, attorneys, law enforcement, and citizens in administering the state’s justice system. Information Meeting on School Projects
ISD 196 will be holding an informational meeting on Tuesday, September 12th from 6:00 PM to 7:30 PM at Rosemount Middle School (3135 143rd St. W.) regarding planned site and facility improvements for Rosemount Elementary, Middle, and High School. The district says that these projects will begin this fall upon approval and will be finished in a year. I encourage you to attend this meeting to learn more!
Interim Appointments
If you would like to meet with me to as any questions or discuss a particular issue, my meetings will be held in-district during these months before next year’s session. Simply use the same contact information for my office below, and we will find a time and place to meet in our community, instead of traveling all the way to Saint Paul!
