Proud to be a member of the Civil Air Patrol!

Dear Neighbor,

Here is an update from the Capitol.

TODAY: Share your Thoughts on Water Quality

On August 29 (today) from 7-9 PM, the League of Women Voters Upper Mississippi River Region, Anoka County Water Task Force, Anoka Conservation District, Anoka Ramsey Community College and Anoka Technical College are hosting a community meeting on water quality for Anoka County residents. The meeting will have an opening speaker and then facilitated small group discussions. Staff from the governor's office are expected, and the results of the conversations will be submitted to the governor.

More information can be found here: http://www.lwvumrr.org/25-by-25-community-water-conversation.html

The meeting will take place at Anoka Ramsey Community College (11200 Mississippi Blvd, Coon Rapids) in the Legacy Room.

I would encourage people to attend and share their thoughts!

Back to School

With the State Fair beginning this week and the weather turning cooler, it means back to school is just around the corner. I first wanted to wish all the students, staff and teachers a wonderful school year! We are blessed with so many great educators in our community dedicated to teaching the next generation of students.

Also for the parents out there, I wanted to remind you about two tax programs Minnesota has that could help you save money on essential needs for your K-12 student including school supplies. Both the K-12 Education Subtraction and Credit could help lower your taxes, so don’t forget to save your receipts when back-to-school shopping!

Learn more on the Minnesota Department of Revenue’s website here.
