WACONIA, MN—Rep. Jim Nash, R-Waconia, issued the following statement congratulating area 2017 Farm Families of the Year. The Farm Family Recognition Program is coordinated by the University of Minnesota Extension; the College of Food, Agriculture, and Natural Resources Sciences; and the College of Veterinary Medicine and recognizes families from Minnesota's 87 counties who have made significant contributions to Minnesota agriculture and their communities. The 2017 Farm Family Recognition Program takes place today at Farmfest.
2017 award winners from Carver County is the Curt and Joni Hedtke Family of Mayer.
"I want to wish a big congratulations to Curt, Joni, and their entire family for this award,” said Nash. “It takes an extremely special type of family to devote their lives to agriculture, and I have a great respect for the Hedtke’s and their family farm.”
Nash is preparing a House Resolution for the family to recognize their award.
