Legislative Update

Friday, July 7, 2017

Dear Friends and Neighbors,

I hope you had a wonderful Independence Day. Here is an update from the Capitol.

Limited Availability for Driver and Vehicle Services

The Minnesota Department of Public Safety Driver and Vehicle Services division recently shared that they will have limited availability July 17-24 due to computer upgrades. During those dates, online vehicle tab renewal and online services will be unavailable, so if you are planning to renew your tabs online this month, I would recommend doing so before July 17.

Additionally, there will also be limited availability at office locations for tab renewals, driver’s license renewals, title applications, plate replacements and other services during those dates. Some locations may close all together or have limited availability, so call ahead to find out.

You can learn more in a recent Star Tribune story here.

Legislator of Distinction

I was named a 2017 Legislator of Distinction by the League of Minnesota Cities this week. A total of 18 members of the Minnesota House and 14 members of the Minnesota Senate were recognized this year.

It’s an honor to be named a Legislator of Distinction by the League of Minnesota Cities, and to champion legislation that positively impacts Woodbury and the hardworking taxpayers of our state. It takes collaboration between state government and local leaders to craft meaningful policy that best serves Minnesotans, and as your state representative, I will continue to advocate for the people and priorities of our community at the State Capitol.
