Statement from Rep. Dario Anselmo on Legislature Sending Completed Budget to Governor’s Desk

Friday, May 26, 2017

Rep. Dario Anselmo advocated for Edina schools, families, and businesses in 2017 Session

ST PAUL, MN—On Friday, the Minnesota House of Representatives and Senate concluded the special session, passing the final bills that comprise the 2018-2019 biennium budget. Altogether, the Legislature passed ten budget bills, a $995 million bonding bill, and a labor standards bill, sending them to the governor’s desk for his signature.

“We have completed the 2017 legislative session and passed a bipartisan budget, working to put the people and priorities of our state first,” said Rep. Dario Anselmo, R-Edina. “I am a strong advocate for our schools, and I think one of the largest accomplishments of this session is placing more money into every classroom and increasing the per pupil funding formula by 2 percent each year. I am also pleased my provision that ensures Edina kids can go to Edina schools was included in the bipartisan education bill. In all, I believe that our bipartisan agreement between the House, Senate and Governor Dayton is a win for Edina and the people of Minnesota.”
