RELEASE: Uglem Appointed to Environment & Natural Resources Bill Conference Committee

Wednesday, April 19, 2017

SAINT PAUL, MN – Representative Mark Uglem, R-Champlin, was appointed on Tuesday to the conference committee for House File 888, the Environment & Natural Resources Omnibus Bill. The conference committee, made up of five members from each the House and Senate, will meet multiple times in the coming days as House and Senate conferees will work to resolve differences between the House and Senate versions of the Environment & Natural Resources Bill.

"I am excited to have been selected to serve on the Environment & Natural Resources Conference Committee," said Rep. Uglem. "This is an opportunity for me to help make sure the final bill balances the needs of protecting the environment and sustaining the natural beauty of Minnesota with the interests of farmers, land owners, small businesses, and average Minnesotans.”

House leaders have repeatedly stated their desire to work with Governor Dayton’s administration during conference committees to ensure an open and transparent process.

Once the conference committee report is passed, the report will head to the House and Senate to be voted on. If passed by both bodies, it will be sent to the Governor for his signature to become law.
