Drew's News: Row the Boat!

Friday, February 10, 2017

Friends,

This week was filled with committee hearings. In the Education Policy Committee I made a strong statement in support of our teachers that you can watch here: Rep. Christensen Discusses Teacher Safety

I believe we need to support our teachers and they deserve a safe place to work. If a student has had disciplinary problems in the past, that information is not something we should keep from teachers. I trust our teachers to use the information in positive ways to help that student grow and to help keep classrooms safe.

I look forward to continuing the conversation on how to make our classrooms a safe place for students to learn and teachers to teach.

Three Energy Bills Pass House

On Thursday, three key energy bills passed the House. Reining in energy costs by unraveling unnecessary and unburdens regulations is a priority of mine. House Republicans are working hard to make energy sources more affordable and to help maintain energy stability in Minnesota.

Row the Boat!

Gophers Head Football Coach PJ Fleck visited the Capitol this week. Unfortunately he was not there to recruit me, but it was great to meet and chat with the new coach. His positive attitude is infectious and I see elite, positive things ahead for the Gophers on and off the field. Good luck Coach!
