Health Insurance Update and Clarification:
Since the passage of Senate File 1 last week, there have been some developments worth sharing:
- There is a one week enrollment extension from February 1st – February 8th
- Medica, which is only available through MNsure, is below its enrollment cap and will accept new enrollees from January 31st -February 8th
- If you qualify for the 25% premium reduction, no action is required on your end, you will receive it automatically. (In order to qualify, you must have bought the plan on the individual market and not received a federal health insurance tax credit).
Upcoming Events:
Senator Jason Isaacson and I will be co-hosting a town hall meeting next Saturday, February 11th, from 10:00 AM to 11:30 AM at Shoreview City Hall (4600 Victoria St. N.). I encourage anyone who is interested in the legislative process to attend. I hope to see you there!
I am also announcing a series of Saturday morning meetings during the legislative session called “Java with Jessup” at select coffee shops. The first one will take place in Mounds View on Saturday, February 18th from 8:30 AM to 10:00 AM at Caribou Coffee (2585 County Hwy 10). Feel free to stop in, grab some coffee, and discuss any issue important to you.
