Legislative Update (Jan. 20, 2017)

Friday, January 20, 2017

Dear Neighbors,

We’re making big strides in St. Paul, and I wanted to keep you posted on all that’s happening. The big news from this week is the House’s passage of the 2017 Health Care Emergency Aid and Access bill. I co-authored this legislation to provide health insurance premium relief for those in need and to preserve care in life-saving or end-of-life situations.

Obamacare and MNsure put Minnesotans in a position where they were losing their doctors and paying sky-rocketing premiums and deductibles. Democrats created a broken healthcare system, and House Republicans have now passed a bill to help fix this problem. Premium relief and continuing care is what’s important to Minnesotans while we look for more long-term reforms. We’re continuing to look for ways to save the individual insurance market, and I’ll keep you up-to-date with these important initiatives.

As always please don’t hesitate to contact me to discuss issues that are important to you and your family. You can set up a time to meet with me at the Capitol by calling 651-296-5185 or email me at rep.tony.albright@house.mn.

It is an honor to serve you,

Tony
