RELEASE: Barr Takes Oath of Office

SAINT PAUL, MN—Representative Regina Barr, R-Inver Grove Heights, was officially sworn-in for her first term Tuesday as the legislature began the 2017 session in St. Paul. Legislators took the oath of office administered by Chief Justice of the Minnesota Supreme Court Lorie Gildea in the House Chamber. Barr will represent District 52B which includes all of Inver Grove Heights and Sunfish Lake as well as parts of Mendota Heights and Eagan.

"I'm honored for the opportunity to represent my friends and neighbors, and am ready to get to work in St. Paul on their behalf addressing the issues Minnesotans care about most," Barr said. "I’m looking forward to working with my colleagues on common sense solutions that help middle-class families by creating good paying jobs with benefits, reducing both health care and child care costs, and educating and preparing our children for the future."

Barr, who was elected to her first term this past November, will serve on the Commerce & Regulatory Reform Committee, the Property Tax & Local Government Finance Division Committee, the Transportation & Regional Government Policy Committee, and the Transportation Finance Committee.

Barr is an 18 year resident of Inver Grove Heights, where she lives with her husband Kevin.
