RELEASE: Rep. Uglem starts new term at the legislature

SAINT PAUL, MN—Representative Mark Uglem, R-Champlin, was officially sworn-in Tuesday as the legislature began the 2017 session in St. Paul. Legislators took the oath of office administered by Chief Justice of the Minnesota Supreme Court Lorie Gildea in the House Chamber. Uglem will continue representing District 36A which includes all of Champlin and parts of Coon Rapids.

"I'm grateful to return to the legislature and continue serving the residents of Champlin and Coon Rapids," Uglem said. "I look forward to working to address healthcare costs, making smart investments in roads and bridges, and getting tax relief for hardworking Minnesotans."

Uglem, who was first elected in 2012, was named Vice Chair of the Capital Investment Committee. He will also serve on the State Government Finance Committee, the Environment & Natural Resources Policy and Finance Committee, and the Subcommittee on Mining, Forestry, & Tourism.

Uglem lives in Champlin with his wife, Pam. They have three children.
