RELEASE: Rep. Loonan Takes Oath of Office for Second Term

SAINT PAUL, MN—Representative Bob Loonan, R-Shakopee, was officially sworn-in Tuesday as the legislature began the 2017 session in St. Paul. Legislators took the oath of office administered by Chief Justice of the Minnesota Supreme Court Lorie Gildea in the House Chamber. Loonan will continue representing District 55A which includes most of Shakopee as well as the townships of Jackson and Louisville.

"I'm grateful to return to the legislature and continue serving the residents of Shakopee, Jackson, and Louisville," Loonan said. "I'm looking forward to working with my colleagues on ways to get healthcare costs under control, improve our state's roads and bridges, and focus on the priorities of Minnesotans across the state."

Loonan, who was first elected in 2014, will serve on the following committees: Health and Human Services Finance Committee, Property Tax & Local Government Finance Division Committee, Civil Law & Data Practices Committee, and Commerce & Regulatory Reform Committee.

Loonan, an insurance agent, lives in Shakopee with his wife Denise. They have four children.
