Rep. Abigail Whelan to Serve on Committees that Improve Roads and Bridges, Address College Tuition for Minnesota Families

Saint Paul, MINN— On Tuesday, December 20, 2016, House Republicans unveiled committee assignments for the 2017-2018 legislative sessions. Representative Abigail Whelan (R-Anoka) was named to four committees: Transportation & Regional Governance Policy, Civil Law & Data Practices Policy, Higher Education & Career Readiness Policy and Finance, and Property Tax & Local Government Finance.

“Neighbors, small business owners and hardworking taxpayers in Anoka County have shared a number of their top priorities with me, and I look forward to addressing these issues in committees and on the House Floor this session,” said Rep. Whelan. “From advocating for vital road improvements such as safety upgrades to Highway 10 and the rail crossings in Ramsey and Anoka, to helping improve our higher education system for students and their families, we will hit the ground running when session begins next month.”

The legislative session is set to begin January 3, 2017.
