Knoblach receives House Taxes Committee assignment

Tuesday, December 20, 2016

ST. PAUL – State Rep. Jim Knoblach, R-St. Cloud, has accepted a position on the House Taxes Committee to go along with his role as Ways and Means chairman and ex officio status with all other House finance committees.

“I look forward to being closely involved in the process of providing tax relief for Minnesotans,” Knoblach said. “Tax relief will be a top priority for the House this year and I am eager to begin the session so we can make it happen.”

This is Knoblach’s eighth nonconsecutive term in the House. He was first elected in 1994 and served six terms before deciding to step away in the early 2000s. Knoblach returned to the House for the 2015 session and was re-elected in November.

The 2017 legislative session is scheduled to start Jan. 3 in St. Paul.
