Tuesday, December 20, 2016

Rep. Kelly Fenton to serve as Vice Chair of the Commerce and Regulatory Reform Committee, and member of Government Operations and Elections, State Government Finance, and Rules & Legislative Administration committees

Saint Paul, MINN— On Tuesday, December 20, 2016, House Republicans unveiled committee assignments for the 2017-2018 legislative sessions. Representative Kelly Fenton (R-Woodbury) was named to four committees: Government Operations and Elections Policy, Commerce and Regulatory Reform, State Government Finance, and Rules & Legislative Administration. Fenton was also appointed to serve as the Vice Chair of the Commerce & Regulatory Reform committee for the 2017-2018 session.

“In addition to advocating for meaningful middle-class tax relief and working to fix our state’s health care cost crisis, serving on these committees will allow me to advocate for policies that make Minnesota state government more efficient, effective and accountable to the people it serves,” said Rep. Fenton. “I look forward to getting back to work in January and welcome input and ideas from people in Woodbury about what they would like to see accomplished in the upcoming session. My door is always open to the people and priorities of our community!”

Fenton, who was also named as Assistant Majority Leader earlier this month, will serve her second term in the Minnesota House representing District 53B. The legislative session is set to begin January 3, 2017.
