ST. PAUL – Rep. Jim Knoblach, R-St. Cloud, issued the following statement regarding the release of the state's new economic forecast on Friday, which calls for a $1.4 billion surplus for the upcoming biennium, starting in July 2017.
“It is pleasing the forecast shows a $1.4 billion surplus, which will allow us to address priorities like increased transportation spending, tax reform, and other areas during the upcoming biennium,” Knoblach said. “This information provides a framework to start our work on new two-year state budget as we await fresh figures from the February forecast that will serve as official parameters.”
