It is a privilege and honor to continue serving the residents of District 10B in Aitkin and Crow Wing counties. I will do my very best to work on behalf of everyone in the district and I thank the good Lord and the wonderful people in our district for this opportunity.
We have a lot of work to do right now. We must mitigate the damage the extreme rise in health insurance costs are doing to our self-employed, small businesses and others that are not covered by an employer based health insurance plan. I will be returning to St. Paul this week to work on a way forward in this area.
It is refreshing that our blackout on sending out email updates has been lifted now that the election has passed. I am able to once again send messages to the citizens of our district. As we approach Veterans Day on Nov. 11, a special thank you to my fellow veterans for answering the call to protect our freedom and this great county. Also, tomorrow (Nov. 10), we celebrate the 241st birthday of the US Marine Corps. Please accept an early happy birthday wish to all those that currently serve or have served in the US Marine Corps.
I request that we all say a special prayer for our new national leadership as they take up the task of governing this great nation, may they be filled with wisdom in their new responsibilities and stray true to the national vision of freedom and opportunity for all that was put forward by our founding fathers.
