RELEASE: New laws enacted on August 1st, Rep. Peterson RX Bill

Wednesday, August 3, 2016

SAINT PAUL: On Monday, August 1st, several laws passed in the 2016 legislative session were enacted. These laws include a provision introduced by Representative Roz Peterson (R-Lakeville) allowing pharmacists to dispense up to a 90-day supply of certain prescriptions once a patient completes an initial 30-day supply.

This measure will help individuals plan ahead when going on vacation, and would save time for both patients and doctors alike. This measure passed both the House and Senate unanimously, was signed into law by Governor Dayton, and went into effect on August 1st.

"I am so pleased to so see this bill enacted," aid Rep. Peterson. "This provision will help people make less trips to the pharmacy and make it easier to plan ahead when going out of town. I was proud to introduce this bill in the House, and look forward to the positive impact it will have on our community!"
