Saint Cloud, MINN—Representative Tama Theis (R-St. Cloud) released the following statement regarding Special Session Negotiations:
"Middle-class tax relief, funding for roads and bridges and important bonding projects in St. Cloud were all blocked over an expensive light rail train. When looking at the growing costs of building Southwest Light Rail, its pending legal challenges in court and the high costs associated with the building and operation of our state’s other light rail lines, it makes little sense that we are holding up vital transportation investments and meaningful tax relief over one project that is controversial and a great expense to taxpayers.”
