RELEASE: Rep. Chad Anderson Bill Officially Becomes Law

Monday, August 1, 2016

St. Paul, MN – On Monday, August 1, a number of bills passed by the Legislature officially became law. Among the numerous new laws is a provision chief authored by Rep. Chad Anderson, R-Bloomington, to increase safety measures for driving instructors by strengthening how criminal background checks are received before issuing an instructor license.

The bill, HF3175, was unanimously passed by the House and Senate, and signed into law by Governor Dayton.

“It’s rewarding to see this bill idea officially become law today,” said Anderson. “This is a common sense way to ensure greater safety for our loved ones learning to drive. I’m still a few years away from one of my children getting behind the wheel for a lesson, but I’ve already heard from many parents who are thankful for the greater sense of security as their kids start this important process.”
