Dear Friends,
It’s the calm before the storm for us at the Capitol, as we debate bills not included in our omnibus proposals and conference committees start meeting. Here are some highlights from the past week.
"Drop Houses" for Seniors Passes the Senate
Last week the senate passed a companion bill to my House file allowing for the zoning of temporary health care dwellings. This would mean that if you are caring for your aging loved one, you would be able to put a “drop house” or small temporary living space for that loved one on your property while you are caring for them. Here is the link to the bill tracking page: https://www.revisor.mn.gov/pages/doctypes/bills/bill.php?b=House&f=SF2555&ssn=0&y=2016
Three Rivers Park District Day at the Capitol
This last week Three Rivers Park District brought in a fun photo booth for visitors and some baby lambs for people to hold. Three Rivers advocates for parks and trails funding at the Capitol and we always look forward to their visit to the Capitol. It was a beautiful day outside, but I’m sure it was a bit warm for the person in this carp costume!
Thank you Three Rivers!
As always, I will keep you update on the bills that we hear in the House, and where we are in the legislative process. Please contact my office at (651)296-5387 or by email at Rep.Roz.Peterson@house.mn if you have any comments or questions!
Enjoy this gorgeous week!
Sincerely,
Roz
