Legislative Update (4-22-16)

Friday, April 22, 2016
Dear Neighbors,

This evening, I will be attending the annual volunteer firefighters’ banquet in Alexandria. This event has become a yearly tradition and I am honored to once again be invited to this event paying tribute to our volunteer firefighters.

Our local firefighters are heroes. I don’t just say that as a legislator, I say that as a mother of three children. They keep our families safe, they keep my kids safe and for that, we owe them a great deal of gratitude.

Being in St. Paul can be difficult at times as we discuss issues that will impact the lives of Minnesotans across the state. However, the most difficult part about serving is being away from my kids. Thanks to our brave firefighters, I know that I do not need to worry because their safety is in the hands of some of the best and most selfless public servants. They are a vital part of what makes Douglas and Otter Tail Counties great places to live and raise a family in Minnesota.

If you are interested or know someone who may be interested in serving as a firefighter, I encourage you to contact one of our local departments. Click here for contact information.

As always, please be sure to let me know your thoughts regarding this issue or any other related to state government. It would be great to speak with you! I can be reached by phone at 651-296-3201 or via email at rep.mary.franson@house.mn.

I truly represent the best!

Have a great weekend,
Mary
