Road to Real ID Compliance (HF1732/SF1646) – On To The House Floor!
My Real ID bill repeals the session law of 2009 and starts the process for our driver’s licenses to be compliant with the federal Real ID. I am proud to chief author this bill and look forward to having it on the House floor so we can pass it on to the governor. This bill allows us to continue to fly on commercial airplanes without worry, all while ensuring your personal information remains private. HF1732/SF1646 is scheduled to be on the House floor this Tuesday for a floor debate and vote.
Tax Debt Settlement Bill (HF2641) Passes Out of Final Committee
My tax-related bill, HF2641, made its final committee stop this week. This bill is consumer-friendly and allows state and federal tax debt to be included in tax settlements. Like my Real ID legislation, I’m anxious to see this bill on the House floor, and hopefully signed into law.
Probate Bill (HF2515) Heads To The Floor
I chief authored this bill that incorporates several proposals from the MSBA’s Probate & Trust Law Section. Among other things, the bill raises to reasonable levels some specific dollar amounts (like the family allowance) that haven’t been increased in over 25 years, and adds options to correct certain mistakes in wills. The bill has been referred to the House floor and I look forward to its passage soon.
