News from Rep. Roz Peterson 3-21-2016

Hello Friends!

The second week of session was even busier than the first. I had the pleasure of meeting with many of you last week as part of your “days at the Capitol” for various groups. It's really encouraging to have people so involved with the legislative process, and I always hear new and innovative ways to approach the issues we are dealing with in Saint Paul. Thank you to everyone who took the time to stop by!

River Valley Girl Scouts!

One of the groups that stopped by this last week was the River Valley Girl Scout Troop!

It was so much fun visiting with these young ladies, and I look forward to watching them growing into the future leaders of our community!

Prescription Refill Bill

This session I have introduced legislation that would allow a pharmacist to dispense a 90-day supply of medications at once, if certain requirements are met. If passed, this would allow people to get a supply of their medication in advance of a long trip, and just generally avoid a lot of unnecessary trips to a pharmacy, which can be especially difficult for our seniors. I presented the bill, HF2512, to the Health and Human Services Reform Committee on March 8th, and a group from the Minnesota Pharmacists Association were generous enough to stop by and show their support!

Again, thank you so much to everyone who stopped by my office in the last couple of weeks. It really is a pleasure to visit with everyone. Your opinions and concerns do not fall on deft ears, and the best pieces of legislation very often are based on ideas from inside our district.

Have a great week!

Sincerely,

Roz
