Legislative Update - March 16, 2018

Friday, March 16, 2018

Dear Neighbors,

I had the opportunity for some great constituent meetings between committee hearings over the last week. Here are some updates from St. Paul:

Constituent meetings

I had the chance to meet with several groups of constituents this week – some on purpose and some on accident.

On Wednesday, I met with Eagle Lake City Administrator Jennifer Bromeland and I also had the good fortune of running into the Mankato East Cougar Math Team at the Capitol. They placed sixth at state – congratulations! They were a delightful group of kids and they remind me of what’s important and why I’m here.

On Thursday, I met with counselors from Mankato East High School. School social workers and counselors are the front lines to children’s mental health and keeping our schools safe from within. I was happy to meet with the counselors from East and support increasing the number of counselors and social workers we have to promote emotionally and socially healthy students.

State of the State

Wednesday evening, I attended Gov. Dayton’s eighth and final State of the State address. For two terms as governor and in the elected offices he held prior, Gov. Dayton has been a strong voice for Minnesota families. In his address, he laid out a clear vision for Minnesota, based on the success our state has enjoyed under his leadership.

As always, feel free to reach out with your ideas and input on legislative matters. I appreciate hearing from you.

Sincerely,

Jack Considine

State Representative
