ST. PAUL – As a result of his efforts to bring legislative information directly to Minnesotans, State Representative Bob Gunther (R-Fairmont) has received an award of recognition from the Minnesota cable television industry.
Gunther has been the executive producer of “Between the Lines,” a cable television show that is shown weekly when the Minnesota House of Representatives is in session. Each week, a Republican and DFL lawmaker discuss happenings at the State Capitol in order to give viewers differing perspectives on the issues. Rep. Gunther is responsible for getting the show started, and finding lawmakers to take part in the discussion.
“I am honored to receive this award,” Gunther said. “I’ve enjoyed being a part of this program, and helping people receive information on legislation, campaigns, and other political topics that affect their lives.”
Gunther noted that the show began as a local program in Fairmont, expanded regionally, and is now seen statewide by two million residents who subscribe to Comcast, Mediacom, and Charter cable systems.
Gunther received the award during an annual meeting of cable networks in St. Paul on March 13.
