Dear neighbors,
September arrived in full force. On Tuesday, I was thrilled to welcome Eastview high schoolers to their first day of school with some of my favorite teachers. I am excited to see what these students achieve.
Coffee and Conversations
With the Labor Day holiday, I will be holding our local Coffee and Conversations on September 16th (Saturday) at the Apple Valley Dunn Brothers off of Galaxy Road (15265 Galaxie Ave). I will be there from 10:00 a.m. until 11:30 a.m. so stop in to say hi quick or stay for the conversation.
Civil Air Patrol
As a member of the Minnesota Wing Civil Air Patrol, I had the honor to take a flight with Pilot Mahbub. It was a great day to fly and I am excited to continue working with the Civil Air Patrol.
Policymakers at the Zoo
Several policymakers and their staff joined me on a tour of the Minnesota Zoo recently. Did you know the Minnesota Zoo belongs to you? The Minnesota Zoo gets 1/3 of its funding from the public and we are very fortunate to have one of the largest zoos in the country right in our backyard. The Zoo is a great partner to our local community and attracts millions of visitors to our community every year. The new director of the Minnesota Zoo is planning some exciting new developments like converting the old monorail platform into a treetop walkway, and they are asking policymakers for support. You can read about them here. I will be talking with my colleagues about these new projects and showing them the value of these improvements.
