Ice cream will also be provided!

Who: Minnesota Management and Budget Commissioner Myron Frans

Where: Edgewater Park, 3100 Edgewater Drive, Woodbury, MN 55125

Upgrades to the Minnesota License and Registration System

Recently the Department of Public Safety (DPS) and Driver and Vehicle Services (DVS) upgraded a nearly 30-year-old system for issuing titles, license plates, and vehicle registrations (tabs). The new system has completed over 155,000 transactions during its first 5 days. But with any new system, there are wrinkles that need to be ironed out. Both DPS and DVS noticed some issues and are working to improve the processes. My family also experienced some of the challenges. If you have concerns about titles or vehicle tabs and specifically about completing an online transaction, completing a transaction in-person, if you mailed in a transaction in from July 14th – the July 31st, or if you think you should have received your title but you have yet to receive it please give me a call and I will do whatever I can to help.

Property Tax Refund

One goal I have every year is working to make sure as many people as possible file for the homestead credit refund or renters tax credit refund. For more details check look at this information from the Department of Revenue http://www.revenue.state.mn.us/Forms_and_Instructions/m1pr_inst_16.pdf . If you have any question please contact me!

Seeking Public Comments for Every Student Succeeds Act

Please visit the State Plan Public Comment page of the MDE website for information on how to provide feedback by clicking here. The public comment period ends August 31, 2017.

As always, please let me know if you have any questions or concerns. I am here to represent you.

Sincerely,

JoAnn Ward
